ENSEMBLE  PAMPLEMOUSSE presents:

"Pure and Adulterated Tones” – A Concert of Sonic Investigation

Composers Rama Gottfried, Andrew Greenwald, and Natacha Diels continue their exploration of the building blocks of sound with "Pure and Adulterated Tones." The program of six compositions simplifies sound to its embryonic element, or renders it inconceivably complex, by focusing on interference. Two types of interference are examined; the interference created between sine waves tuned to irrational harmonics; and the inner principle of interference found within all sound producing insturments. Conceived specifically for Ensemble Pamplemousse, each piece demonstrates the extended possibilities of each instrument while maintaining the notion that simplicity can be found even in the seemingly infinite.
