Michael Lormand* resides in New York City as a freelance musician playing a wide variety of music.  His interest in new music has led to performances with groups such as Alarm Will Sound, the Claremont Ensemble, Ensemble Pamplemousse, and Tactus.  As an orchestral musician, he has performed with several groups including the Delaware Symphony Orchestra, the Reading (PA) Symphony Orchestra, and the New England Symphonic Ensemble.  Michael has been a featured soloist at the International Trombone Festival in Holland as well as with the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra.  Commercially, he has recorded music for television and film; and has toured the U.S. and Europe with productions of the musicals, “Kiss Me, Kate!” and “Hair.”  In 2003, Michale received his MM from the Manhattan School of Music, where he was a student of Per Brevig and David Taylor.
